Holy Night

Morning everyone. Sorry for missing a post on Monday, with one thing and another and Blogspot playing up again I ran out of time and couldn't manage. Today I would like to share a Christmas Card that I have made towards my Christmas Box. Thanks have to go to Dawn for getting me going.

This is quite a large card, so definitely for someone special. I took a sheet of A3 Centura Pearl, scored and folded it in half, then cut it so it measured 9 3/4''.

I measured from one end and marked at 6'' and cut using a craft knife and ruler. On the thinner slice I cut 2 1/2'' from the bottom. Then both of these where scored and folded in half giving staggered easels.

I stamped some of my own leaf stamps using versamark and embossed them using silver embossing powder. I then coloured them using a mixture of Shaded Lilac Distress ink and Summer Sky Memento ink. I cut them out and set side for later.

Next I took my 'Oh Holy Night' Die and cut it 3 times in card and once in gold mirri card. I then stuck these together using the gold at the top, using Cosmic Shimmer glue. I coloured the edge using my gold Krylon pen.

I made the card front using a couple of backing card sheets. Firstly I cut out the detailed circle die (Tonic) in white card and used blue Silk Art card behind to highlight the detail. I cut the snowy cottage from the backing card and secured behind with Cosmic Shimmer glue. Santa and the reindeer were cut from another sheet and secured to the circle using 3D glue gel.

The topper for the smaller easel was made with a stamped sentiment and snowflakes which I stamped using Deep Lagoon Versafine Ink. I mounted this onto Navy Silk Art card and mirri card. I added the snow at the bottom by cutting out some snow from the backing sheet and shaping it with my ball tool. Then wrapped with a small sheet of snowy acetate, letting it bow at the front.

I used Navy Silk Art card and gold mirri for all of the mats and used a corner punch on all of them. I did gut all of the card where it wouldn't show or make a difference to the strength of the the finished card. I used some of my leaves as stoppers for the easels and arranged the remaining ones around the corner. Lastly I added my 'Oh Holy Night' sentiment.

Many thanks for visiting my blog today, I really welcome your comment and appreciate your support. Some very exciting news, Leonie has a brand new Launch coming up very soon, more details to follow.

    1. Think that you should keep it! With all the hard work that you put in,or one to be delivered as the postage would be horrendous.
Glad to be useful with the day mix up,was worried whether to say or not as didn't want to offend. Didn't know you could change the post wording. The wonders of the modern world that I know absolutely nothing about.
Hope that you have a good day. Nicola x
