Special Friend

Morning, Here I have used watercolour card, Brusho and Pixie Powders to create a background to use with the Circle Pop Out Kinetic card dies from Crafters Companion. The shows should still be available via 'Rewind' via the Hochanda website.

I took a sheet of watercolour card and thoroughly saturated it on both sides under the tap. I then sprinkles Violet, Prussian Blue and Ultramarine Brusho. Next I added a very small amount of Bronze Blush and White Pearl Pixie Powders in a few areas across the card before spritzing with a little water. I then left it to dry.

I next cut out the kinetic base in white Centura Pearl, 'Hint of Silver' and 2 of the beautiful floral panels. From one of the panels I cut out the flowers and shaped them. I cut out the background and assembled my card.

To finish, I added the flowers that I had shaped using Collall Tacky Glue. The I used the Blue Cosmic Shimmer PVA to add centres to all of the flowers.

Clay Wallhanging

Here is another fun way of using the amazing 3D Embossing Folders from Crafters Companion. When I first used these folders I really was blown away at the detail, depth and dimension they gave. So much so that I was intrigued as to what else I could do with them, so here is one thing I came up with, using the Country Garden Folder.

I rolled out my air dry clay to approximately 6 mm (a little thicker than I required). To make sure it was even, I used chipboard either side as a measure. I placed the embossing folder over the clay and rolled again. Then using a pastry cutter, I cut the area I wanted.

Once thoroughly dry I added the colour, here I started with Cosmic Shimmer Shimmer Mists, I used Midnight Blue and Purple Violet.

I wanted a random blend of colour so I dabbed the colour in areas and then added the second colour slightly overlapping. Once dry there was no hard line.

To add a protective coat I used a couple of coats of Spray n Shine from Crafters Companion.

To finish I added a ribbon tag at the back for hanging, then I entirely covered the back with felt to protect the wall.

This could be made in any colour you choose. Also they could be made in a range of clays depending on what you would like to use it for. I have tried it with stoneware clay, so it makes a great coaster or even a hanging for the garden. The possibilities are really endless. Let It Snow

You can never have too many snowflakes in your collection. I love this collection from Bee Crafty, Bev launched it on Hochanda on the 26th September so it might be worth checking today if it is still on Catch up as the shows are normally kept for 14 days, you might be lucky. I adore the main focal Snow Embellishment stamp, it's so versatile, using each side for either a grungy look or a cleaner look or using it as a whole for a real statement. Here I have chosen to have a crisp clean look but I love the distressed side just as much.

I started by stamping the delicate Snowflake Border onto my navy satin ribbon with white Stayzon ink. The border is designed so it can be easily extended. I extended it across the length of my ribbon to allow me to wrap around the card and tie a matching bow.

I took my 8' square card and stamped the main design using Cobalt Blue Archival ink.

Next using a selection of the individual snowflake stamps i added them across my card using Shaded Lilac and Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink and the Cobalt Blue Archival.

I distressed just around the edge using Blueprint Sketch then wrapped my ribbon around the card and attached at the back with Wonder Tape from Be Creative. I then layered this onto red Mirri card.

I stamped my sentiment onto a piece of white card, using Shaded Lilac, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire I blended to make it darker around the edges and lighter towards the centre to highlight. I then matted this onto the same red Mirri card and attached to my card using Collall 3D glue gel. To finish the card I added a matching Bow.

Dandelion Clock

This is a project I was really excited about so I am really pleased to be sharing it with you today. The base is made from the large 8' circle MDF that Bev from Bee Crafty launched at Alexandra Palace live on Hochanda. I used the dandelion set of stamps, it's a really wonderful set and I am sure I will be using them in a lot of different project, I am sure you will too.

To start with I took a sheet of tissue paper, slightly bigger than the MDF and stamped the dandelion seeds with Versamark to act as a resist. I wanted to get as many layers as possible to add interest to the finished piece.

Having spritzed the tissue thoroughly I sprinkled Brusho's over the surface, I used Emerald Green and Cobalt Blue.

I then saturated the tissue with water to blend and make pools of colour, then put it outside in the sun to dry.

I took my clock stencil and drew around it onto copier paper, cut out and set aside. I would use this later to protect the work, it makes it a lot easier.

Next I mixed some white Gesso with a coupe of teaspoons of plaster, I find this gives a much nicer surface for stamping onto than Gesso on it's own and the results are much nicer. I painted this onto the base and left to dry.

Using Black Versamark, I stamped some of the dandelions and seed heads from the collection onto the MDF base. 

I left this to dry before applying the tissue to the base using Cosmic Shimmer Matt Glue, Seal & Glaze from Creative Expressions. When this had dried overnight, I stamped more dandelions on top using Versamark and embossed with white fine detail powder to add another layer. Next I took some Decoart sand Texture Paste and coloured it using some black Brusho's

I placed my clock stencil in place and then added my copier paper to protect the other areas. Using a painting knife I spread the  Sand Texture Paste onto my project and removed the stencil and paper.

I added my sentiment using Black Versafine and added some Pebeo Gilding wax to the clock and edges.

To finish I added the clock hands and my project was finished.

Snow

Morning, While I had the opportunity, I just had to make a card using the lovely paper pads that Justin & Gordon from Be Creative brought to Hochanda. They are excellent quality with some beautiful designs.

For this I chose the beautiful Snowflake sheet along with the deer striped sheet.

I didn't want a full 8x8' sheet but I also didn't want to lose the beautiful edge design, so I cut a couple of inches from the centre from side to side and joined back together with tape on the reverse. I then took a sheet of Hint of Silver Centura Pearl and embossed it with the 'Entwined Snowflakes' by Sue Wilson.

Using a 2 part bauble die and the Snow die from Leonie's Entwined collection, I cut them out using the paper pad, I also cut some that I had covered with the Wonder Tape.

I then layered these u to use on my card later.

I had also cut the overlays of the baubles in card covered with Wonder Tape. I peeled the backing off and covered with Crystalina Glitter. At the same time I highlighted areas of the paper using the glue wand the same glitter.

I backed the embossed card onto some matching pearl card using Cosmic Shimmer glue.

Where I had joined the paper, I took some coordinating Seam Binding wrapped it around the card and secured on the reverse with Wonder Tape.

I then backed it onto the same matching card as I had used for the embossed card.

To finish the card I added the 'Snow', Baubles and a matching messy bow made from the seam binding. I used the 3D Glue Gel to raise the elements from the base card.

Chilli Days, Scarves and Gloves

Morning, Apart from a couple of dies and a piece of ribbon, this card is made from the items launched by Leonie on Hochanda. If you didn't see the shows, they will still be available on catch up via the Hochanda website, so please do take a look as the sparkle really shows better in real life, it's marvellous.

I stamped the snowman, the holly leaves and some berries onto my watercolour card. Then after masking them off with Pebeo Drawing Gum I added colour to my glass mat, spritzed with water and smeared my card across it. 

I held the top of the card up slightly to start with and then placed it on the lightest colours on the mat, I wanted it to have a snowy look. The colours I used were Cobalt from the Frosty Christmas set along with the Iris and Lavender from the Wrapped up set.

I used a Sue Wilson die to cut out, pacing and taping it in place. I chose this die as I wanted the background colours to show through the cut areas. I coloured the berries using the Berry and the holly using the Holly Leaf.

To create the background I took the same colours and wiped them diagonally over my card with a sponge.

When this was dry I took one of Leonie;s Strip sentiments and stamped around the 2 corners, The nice thing is doing it this way you never get any of the words upside down.

I took the same sentiment strip and shaped it on my block and stamped inside the die cut.

I secured the die cut onto my background using Cosmic Shimmer glue.

To finish off the card I added a silver satin edged organza ribbon. Then I backed the project onto blue Centura Pearl card from Crafters Companion, it was from the Darks collection.
