Tea-riffic

Morning, My card for today is one I made with Sara's Signature Collection. Having been extremely careful when using the wonderful papers, I had collected enough to make this card, without cutting into any more. None of the pieces could have been used for much so to get this card was a real bonus.

For this card you will need:
Toppling Tea Cups Die
Tea-riffic Sentiments Die
Traditional Jute Twine
Vintage Tea Party 6x6 Paper Pad
Sheena Stamping Card
Mint Centura Pearl (Lights Collection)
Centura Pearl Ivory

Step 1: Secure your selection of papers on to card with Tacky glue, when dry cut out a variety of different sized cups.

Step 2: Take your selected card and arrange your cups carefully across the card, it's harder than you think to get a good design that's pleasing to the eye. Any that are over the card can be trimmed when dry.

Step 3: Wrap jute 4 or 5 times around the card and secure at the back.Tie a knot around to gather the jute where you will place the complimentary button. Add your sentiment cut from Mirri Card.

Step 4: Back your card onto mint Centura Pearl, leaving a narrow border and layer onto your base card, made from Ivory Centura Pearl.

Thank you for taking the time to visit today, I do hope you have enjoyed the tutorial and the finished card. I do hope you will pop by again very soon.

Winter has hit here with a vengeance, I thought we were out of the woods, but temperatures have dropped to -21 this morning, snow on the loo seat and on the toilet roll. The fire is roaring but I am sat here freezing. The power is still on, I hope it stays that way, they are forecasting up to a meter today and more over the next 2 days. Hope to be back tomorrow as long as the power stays on. Take care and Happy Crafting.xx

Tea for Two

Here is a card that I made for the launch of the 'Vintage Tea Party', the new Signature Collection from Sara at Crafters Companion. Before the tutorial, I just wanted to take a minute to highlight the quality of everything in the collection. The lace for instance is beautifully soft to the touch and in my opinion top grade. The paper pad is packed full of wonderful images and the colours are perfect for all of your projects.

For this card you will need:
Centura Pearl Ivory
Centura Pearl 'hint of Silver'
Lilac Centura Pearl (Lights Collection)
Kraft Card
Adhesives

Step 1:Take a sheet from the 6x6 paper pad, Prepare your layering, first layer from Centura Pearl Ivory, the 2nd in Lilac Centura Pearl. Cut both to allow a narrow border, also prepare your base card using the Ivory Centura Pearl.

Step 2: Take a length of the lace long enough to allow you to secure it behind the paper with tape. Now secure this to the layers you have prepared.

Step 3: Cut your sentiment, using the Hint of Silver Centura Pearl. Layer this onto the Ivory and then Hint of Silver, to tie everything together.

Step 4: Cut out your elements, Cut 2 cups and the teapot in Hint of Silver, with the decorative inserts. Then again with the lilac, using the plain edges.

Step 5: Secure the pieces together using either 3D glue gel or Collall All Purpose glue. Cut the cups again with Kraft card and insert to look like tea.

Step 6: Assemble the card as shown adding depth to the elements using 3D Glue gel.

This is a very simple card to make, it would be ideal for batch making, Invitations etc. The addition of a little pouch inside and it would serve as a voucher holder, maybe for a Tea for Two experience.

I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial today and like the finished card. Thank you for taking the time to visit today and I hope you will come back again very soon. Take care and Happy Crafting.xx

Lemon Curd Easel

Morning, I'm mixing it up today with this card. It's an easel card that I made for the launch of Sara's 'Vintage Tea Party' collection. I'm also using the Crafters Companion easel dies that were recently launched on Hochanda. The papers add a lovely accent detail to the edge of the card.

For this card you will need:
Floral Easel Die Set
Tea and Biscuits Die Set
Made with Love Dies Set
Vintage Tea Party 6x6 paper pad
Paper clay or similar
Foliage die
Silver Mirri Card
Centura Pearl White 'Hint of Silver'
Kraft Card
Indigo Blu Banana Custard  and Emerald City Acrylic paint
Acetate
Cheese Grater

Step 1: Create your easel base using the Floral Easel Die set using Centura Pearl.

Step 2: Cut 2 pieces from the paper pad, selecting the decorative edge. Secure to your base card with Collall Tacky glue.

Step 3: Using both edge dies from the Easel set create 2 frames from Centura Pearl and secure to the base card.

Step 4: Form your paper clay into a lemon shape and make 3, add texture with a cheese grater and leave to dry.

Step 5: Paint the lemons with the Banana Custard and add a spot of the green at the end of the lemons.

Step 6: Cut 2 spoons from Mirri Card, secure a little lemon card behind the bowl of the spoon. Cut some foliage for decoration.

Step 7: Arrange the elements on your base card, this will now form your stopper. Use Collall 3D glue gel for this.

Step 8: Cut 3 of the jars from Acetate and paint using Banana Custard, You may need 2 coats.

Step 9: Cut the lid covers using paper from the 6x6 paper pad.

Step 10: Cut the jar fronts and label from Kraft card.

Step 11: Assemble the elements using 3D glue gel

Step 12: Arrange and secure the jars to your card, again using 3D glue gel.

I really hope you have enjoyed your visit today, along with the tutorial I have included for this project. Thank you so much for taking the time to pop by and I hope you will visit again very soon. Take care and Happy Crafting.xx

Parchment Pleasure

Morning, I wanted to make quite a different project with this one for the launch of Sara's 'Vintage Tea Party'. The collection is incredibly versatile used as it is, but there are many other ways to use the wonderful elements it contains. Here I have used the collection to create a beautiful parchments card. I hope those of you who have received your collection are having fun.

For this card you will need:
Doily Delights Embossing Folder
Vintage Doily Die
Peacock Feathers Oxide
Two 5 x 7'' pieces of Sheena Stamping Card
Teal Centura Pearl (Darks Collection)
Centura Pearl White 'Hint of Silver'
Teal Satin Ribbon
Parchment
White Stayzon ink
EVA Foam
Embossing Tools
Foam Mat
Copier Paper
Brads

Step 1: Emboss your card with the Doily Delights Folder and Highlight the raised emboss detail using Peacock Feathers.

Step 2: Join the  pieces to create a larger card, here 10 x 7 approx. Cut your teal Centura Pearl to leave a narrow border.

Step 3: Place your teal ribbon around the card to hide the join, layer onto the Centura Pearl.

Step 4: Create your stamp using the Vintage Doily Die, cutting into the EVA foam. It does give a nicer crisper image than funky foam.. Mount onto a small piece of card before securing to your stamping block.

Step 5: Test the stamp on a piece of scrap. Cut an aperture into copier paper, your chosen size and stamp your design through it, using Stayzon white ink.

Step 6: Using your fine embossing tool and mat, add all the white line work all over the design. Then add your white work to bring the images to life.

Step 7: Add box frames around you piece, I've used 3 and then cut to size.

Step 8: Layer onto Centura Pearl leaving a narrow border, use brads in all 4 corners, dont use glue as it shows and marks the parchment.

Step 9: Layer this onto white card with Tacky glue

Step 10: Add the parchment topper to your card suing foam tape to add dimension. Add a matching ribbon bow. Finally secure your project to a Centura Pearl base card, White 'Hint of Silver'.

Thank you for joining me today, I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial and the finished card. I hope you will pop by again very soon as there is always plenty to share with you. For now take care and Happy Crafting.xx

Cascading Cups

Here's a card I made for the launch of Sara's 'Vintage Tea Party' collection. The launch was a huge success, by now many of you will have received your collections. I am sure you are having lots of fun creating your own designs.

For this card you will need:
Light blue Centura pearl
Pale blue Distress ink
Paper roses and flowers
Foliage

Step 1: Score an A4 sheet of Centura Pearl at 8'' and fold. Trim the top so it also measures 8''. Now cut another strip 2 x 8'' and position at the edge of your card leaving the gap in between.

Step 2: Cut a selection of cups, selectively run them through the embossing folder, then highlight the embossed detail with ink.

Step 3: Using Tacky glue, bridge the gap between the pieces of card to create the bridge and hold the card together. Create a pleasing look and be careful not to glue the cups to the base card.

Step 4: Cut the teapot from the 'Afternoon Tea' set, once in white using the decorative insert. Then again in blue without the insert. Trim the handle and spout from both to create a vase. Shape and add to the card with 3D glue gel. Then arrange your flowers and secure with 3D glue gel.

Step 5: On the inside of your card, add a light blue background using Centura Pearl. Finally cut and secure your sentiment using the same blue card.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog today, Hopefully you have enjoyed the tutorial I have shared with you along with the additional photos. I do hope you will visit again very soon. For those of you you who didn't get to see Part 3 of my Floral Embellishment Series, Please take a look, I would really appreciate your comments and support.
