Patchwork, Fun With 1'' Blocks

Morning Friends and Crafters, Hope you are all well and ready for another video today, it would be lovely if you would like to join me tonight at 7 pm. This evening I will be sharing the finished blocks from last week. This weeks block is all about the 1'' square block. I for one don't have the sewing skills or confidence to ensure all the points match up perfectly, so this is a wonderful shortcut.

I hope that this new technique will help you too and if you are totally new like me, then maybe it will give you the confidence to try it yourself. I still think the best bit of this is creating your very own fabric designs, it's been such great fun.

The patterns and colour mixes, really do give you the most amazing effects. I've spent so much time looking at the different effects, it's just so interesting and beautiful. Here's the link for this evenings video, I hope to see you at 7 pm (UK Time) on the Youtube Channel.

To celebrate the first year of Craftascope Makes on Facebook, The anniversary of the first year of bringing you Craftascope Products along with just adding the 40th video on my Youtube Channel, I will be doing a few very special offers on my Etsy store, so do watch out.

The first of the Offers is now live, SAVE A WHOPPING 30% OFF OF 2 OF THE MOST POPULAR COLLECTIONS, THIS RUNS UNTIL SUNDAY AT MIDNIGHT, It is a limited offer, so will end if the stock goes first.

I hope you are enjoying the videos I am adding to the channel, they are building up on the channel and cover quite a variety of crafts, with plenty of Idea's, Hint's and tips. I am sure there will be plenty more to come in the future for everyone. Mixed Media Stitched Journal

Morning Friends and Crafters, well at last I have had the chance to prepare and film the stitched Mixed Media Journal, it will go live at 7 pm (UK Time) this evening, if you would like to join me on on you tube . It's very similar to the one I decorated on my last Hochanda Show. The show is also available on my youtube channel, if you would like to look back on it. The video is 'The Regal Rose' collection, with Janice which aired on the 13th August at 12 noon.

I have to admit this was a tricky one to film, with positioning the camera and with such a small viewing area that I had to work in. You will have to forgive me for the mishaps, I hope I haven't made it look to difficult, I can assure you it's a lot easier to make than I have made it look.

The size of the covers are 8 1/2 x 6 1/4 and are cut from Zutter Board. This is a perfect size for A4 card, Fabric or material folded to A5 size. There is no waste at all and no trimming necessary. I do hope you will join me at 7 pm, I will be there to answer any questions you have and for a chat of course.

Just a couple things to remind you about. There are a few more days left to get your hands of the HALF PRICE Blooming Marvelous Collection, Please don't miss out, it's a wonderful collection of Stamps, Dies and Stencils. Secondly the GIVEAWAY, all you have to do is leave a review for any Craftascope purchase on Etsy for your chance to win my New Collection. There is a link to my Etsy Store at the top of the page.

Here is the link for the video this evening, I hope you will join me for a chat.

The Craftascope Floral Stamp and Die Collection Launch show

Hi Friends and Crafters, Just a quick post to keep you in the loop so to speak. I've been away for a little while resting but I am well on the mend now so I am catching up with all the things I have neglected and hope to be back with you very soon with some more inspiration. I have just finished uploading the Launch show of the Floral Stamp and Die Collection with Kathryn for you so I hope you will enjoy it. It was such a busy show, Had great Fun.

More news, You might have seen that I have putout a Design Team Call to, so I can expand the great team I have already. I am looking forward to welcoming the new members, Full details are on my Facebook page.

I have a lot of messages saying that they like to be able to watch the shows once they are no longer on Catch up to watch back the demos. I think one day I will have the courage to watch one back. As you all know I love to share and Hochanda is such a great place to visit and it gives me the opportunity to share even more with you. It's also given me a little more confidence, so I am doing a lot more on my Youtube channel. Here's the show link.

I'm over the moon that my New 'Regal Rose' collection has proved to be so popular, If you haven't seen it yet, they are on my Etsy Site, I know there are very few left now and only 1 of the full collection, so do be quick. Also another bit of news, I have been able to restock the Retro Banner Stamp Set at long last after it sold out in less that 24 hours, so again please be quick if you would like it, such a great set and so versatile. I also have a chat about the new collection on my Natter with Nick, below.

I have been toying with the idea of moving more towards video tutorials than the blog and I really would like to hear your views on it, if you have any or if you have a preference to one or the other. I have heard from quite a lot of crafty friends that they are shutting down blogs as visitors seem to prefer a photo on Social media rather than a tutorial. I have to say I feel it will be a shame to lose some of the blogs that are out there but I can understand when  it takes a huge amount of time to keep up a blog if people prefer a quick photo. Anyway I have asked before, so I thought I would ask again. See you very soon, for now Take care and Happy Crafting.xx

Clarity On Hochanda

Morning Friends and Crafters. Goodness only knows where these days are going lately. I seem to get up and before I know it, it's the end of another day. If anyone has any idea of ho to stretch the day, then I would be more than happy if you could share. Well despite the day going nowhere I did get a lot done, more prep for my next Hochanda Shows and some projects for the Clarity Shows. Yes Barbara is back with us tomorrow on Hochanda for a 2 hour show, with some super Stencils, Stamps and Groovi plates.

Today I am sharing one of the projects I have done with the stencil, I do hope you like it. I have used the Colourcraft Fabric Paints, the 'Opaques'. They really give a wonderful effect, you can mix all of the colours to achieve the perfect one to match the project.

I have a full post on the Hochanda Blog today, using the same stencil to create 4 cards. There is a full tutorial with photos and the variations for you to see. Please take a look and if you have time I would love for you to leave a comment or some feedback. VISIT HERE.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope to be back with you on Monday morning bright and early, Fingers Crossed, for now Take care and Happy Crafting.xx

Art Wall Hanging Brush Holder

Morning, This was a really fun piece to make and it's really useful too. It's great to hang up in your craft room to hold your brushes, pens or pencils. You could even add other pockets, depending on what you want it to hold.

The paints I used were from Indigo Blu, They are extremely concentrated and give marvellous results on fabric as well as other mediums. I used the 'Art' stencil in various sizes, using a stencil brush, I stencilled onto calico, cut out the words when dry and set aside.

The base of the hanging is made from a large piece of medical gauze, this takes inks and colour extremely well. I folded this into the shape I wanted and sprayed with Orange and Purple ink sprays.

Using a smaller piece of calico, I stamped a selection of stamps from the 'Arrow to the Art' set from Leonie Pujol with a Versafine ink pad. I cut these out when dry and again set them aside.

When the base was dry, I started stitching around the edges using my Toyota Oekaki machine. Then using the free motion, I embroidered around the stamped calico shapes onto the base. Before stitching the words in place, I added some different materials and an old dictionary page to add texture and dimension. Finally I added a plain calico pocket to hold the brushes. The hanging part was made by adding a coloured pencil to the top and gold coloured jewellery wire.

Thank you so much for visiting today and taking the time to look around. I would love to hear your comments. It's great to hear what you think. I have some other thigs to share over the next few days, so the next post using Leonie's collection will be on May 5th. Take care and see you soon. xx
