Parchment Hearts

Morning, I am very excited to be sharing this project with you today as it's Valentines Day. The lovely Leonie, launched this lovely set of dies on Hochanda a while back but they are wonderful. Leonie designed them especially to co-ordinate with the 'Entwined Hearts' die cutting range. That said they are so versatile and work really well as a stand alone essential or with any of your existing stash.

Beginning with the 'Dotty Heart'  embossing folder from the new collection, I embossed a piece of parchment. To ensure the parchment didn't tear or buckle, I placed it between a folded sheet of copier paper.

Next, from black card I cut the ''Folk Heart'' base die as I wanted the frame and one heart, I kept the other for a future project.

I stuck the heart frames onto my parchment using 3D glue gel, to give a different look on each I used the embossed side on one and the debossed side on the other.

I then roughly cut out 2 pieces of red 'Silk Art' card and adhered it to the back of my parchment hearts using 'Stick It' adhesive sheets, this allows the colour to show through more where the parchment touches and highlights the embossing. I then trimmed around these using scissors, it's very easy because of the frame.

Next, I took one of the heart dies cuts. Using the Flitter Glue from Indigo Blu, I stamped the lovely 'Script' stamp from the range at an angle.

Then taking a sheet of gold foil, I placed over the heart and gently burnished it with a soft cloth. Removed the sheet leaving it beautifully foiled.

For the card front I took a piece of black card stock measuring 7' square. Using the sweetheart stamp and Flitter Glue, I stamped and foiled in the same way as the heart. I then repeated this with a small detail stamp from the collection, to add highlights mainly focused around the top right and bottom left hand corners with just a suggestion in other areas and set aside.

Next I took a piece of red 'Silk Art' card, approximately 7 3/4'' square and a piece of parchment large enough to fold around and leave a 5 mm fold for securing at the back. I folded the edges over to mark but did not secure it until later.Taking the parchment and script stamp, I randomly stamped around the edges with white Stazon ink. There's no need to stamp anywhere else as it will be covered.

I folded this back over my red card and secured at the back with red liner tape.

Next, I arranged my hearts on the card front and secured them with foam tape and 3D glue gel to raise them from the background.

I backed the script background with a black card base and secured with Cosmic Shimmer Glue from Creative Expressions.

To finish my card, I secured thin organza ribbon across the two opposite corners using red liner tape and added it to my base card with 3D glue gel.

I hope you have enjoyed the step by step I have shared and the little taster of the wonderful crafting goodies that Leonie gives us crafters. See you all soon and thank you for visiting today. Please take the time to visit the Hochanda Blog, I am sharing Part 2 of my Floral Embellishment Series. I would love to have your comments there and support. Take care and Happy Crafting.

Always

Morning, Today's project is a scrapbook page made using the lovely artwork from Michelle of MJM Design Studios. Her Lilies and Light triple CD collection was launched on Hochanda a few weeks ago with Crafters Companion. In my opinion it's a must have collection, please don't be put off that it's digital. If you have a printer it really is simple to make a multitude of projects. Here I have done a digital layout and another identical but crafted traditionally to show it really is for everyone.

I planned my original piece digitally. Then to make the traditional page, I printed the sheets of elements i wanted along with photos.

I cut out the pieces along with the backing papers, then put the piece together using Collall Tacky glue and 3D glue gel.

Here are both pieces for you to see the comparison, it's incredibly difficult to tell them apart, unless you are close up.

Do take a look at the collection from Michelle, the artwork and colours really are beautiful. Thank you so much for visiting today. There is plenty more to share so do pop back very soon. Take care and Happy Crafting.xx

French Fancy

Hi all. A French Twist today. Here is a step by step for one of the samples I made for the launch of the Kinetic cards by Crafters Companion. I have also used Stamps from Leonie's 'All the Love' set and Graphic 45 Papers.

I cut the circle pop out base using Ivory Centura Pearl 'Hint of Gold'. On the white side, which would become the front,I used the wonderful script stamp from Leonie. I stamped it over the base using Tattered Rose, Victorian Velvet and Antique Linen Distress Inks. The I blended from the outside in using the same inks, keeping it darker on the edges.

I took a sheet of the script paper from the Graphic 45 'Gilded Lily' paper paper pad and cut it out using the inner panels from the dies set.

From another sheet from the same pad I cut my main image using the circle die, this was for the centre. I also fussy cut a sentiment and some flower bouquets.

I layered the panels onto black card before adding it to the centre circle. I shaped the rose and lily bouquets and secured them with Collall 3D glue gel. The assembled the card as shown.

Thank you ever so much for taking the time to visit today. I do hope that you have enjoyed the step by step and the finished card. If you do enjoy reading my blog and the things I share then I would love your nomination for best blog in the International Craft Awards, the link is here: http://www.craftsbeautiful.com/awards/

Chilli Days, Scarves and Gloves

Morning, Apart from a couple of dies and a piece of ribbon, this card is made from the items launched by Leonie on Hochanda. If you didn't see the shows, they will still be available on catch up via the Hochanda website, so please do take a look as the sparkle really shows better in real life, it's marvellous.

I stamped the snowman, the holly leaves and some berries onto my watercolour card. Then after masking them off with Pebeo Drawing Gum I added colour to my glass mat, spritzed with water and smeared my card across it.

I held the top of the card up slightly to start with and then placed it on the lightest colours on the mat, I wanted it to have a snowy look. The colours I used were Cobalt from the Frosty Christmas set along with the Iris and Lavender from the Wrapped up set.

I used a Sue Wilson die to cut out, pacing and taping it in place. I chose this die as I wanted the background colours to show through the cut areas. I coloured the berries using the Berry and the holly using the Holly Leaf.

To create the background I took the same colours and wiped them diagonally over my card with a sponge.

When this was dry I took one of Leonie;s Strip sentiments and stamped around the 2 corners, The nice thing is doing it this way you never get any of the words upside down.

I took the same sentiment strip and shaped it on my block and stamped inside the die cut.

I secured the die cut onto my background using Cosmic Shimmer glue.

To finish off the card I added a silver satin edged organza ribbon. Then I backed the project onto blue Centura Pearl card from Crafters Companion, it was from the Darks collection.

Thank you so much for coming to see my step by step, I hope that you have enjoyed it and the finished card. I hope you will stop by again very soon. Take care and Happy Crafting.xx
