Happy Birthday Chrysanthemum card

Hi Friends and Crafters, today I thought I would share some Chrysanthemums and a birthday card to display them on. These flowers are a great way to start your journey with Foamiran from 14 Craft Bar. They are easy and straightforward to make, although there is a lot of cutting. The Birthday card is made using dies from Sue Wilson.

You will need:
Florist Wire
Aluminum Foil
Hot Glue Gun
Oil Pastels Red, Orange and Yellow Shades of your choice
Sue Wilson Ornate Pierced Rectangles
Sue Wilson Frames and Tags Poppy
Cream Card
White Card
Centura Pearl Base Card

Step 1: Cut a selection of circles in the amounts and sizes shown in the photo. I have also included a cutting guide here to show where to make your cuts

Step 2: Cut your circles as shown in the guide, making sure to stop around 1 cm from the center.

Step 3: Next shape each of the cut section, rounding off the edges to give a petal shape.

Step 4: Colour the petals using your selection of colours, reserve the deepest of your colours for the smallest petals only. Make sure each size of petal gets lighter as the size increases, leaving your largest petal the lightest of all.

Step 5: For the smallest 2 sizes of petals, place on the iron to heat, they will start to curl, let them drop and they will naturally form a cupped shape. The larger petals need to be heated and gently folded in turn.

Step 6: Take a small piece of scrap foamiran, large enough to cover a small ball of foil, colour this to match your petals. Secure the wire to the foil ball with hot glue. Thread one of the smallest petals onto the wire, add a drop of hot glue and secure as tightly as possible to your bud. Take another and secure slightly loser, repeat this with each consecutive petal, lastly add a green one which will form the greenery.

Step 7: Finally add a leaf to your flower.

For the Card:

Step 1: Use the pierced rectangles (tow largest dies) Cutting centrally in card measuring 7 1/2 x 6''. Cut the smaller from cream and the larger from white and secure together with Tacky Glue

Step 2: Emboss a piece of cream card, again 7 1/2 x 6''. Here I have used Tied Together by Couture Creations.

Step 3: Cut the poppy frame in white and the base frame in cream, layer together.

Step 4: Cut the decorative oval in white and a plain oval in cream, Layer them together.

Step 5: Assemble the card as shown using foam pads to give depth and dimension to the decorative insert and the outer frame.

Step 6: Finally layer onto your base card made with Ivory Centura Pearl.

Here is a close up of the flowers.

Many thanks for taking the time to take a look today, I hope you have enjoyed the tutorial and the finished card. I hope you will join me again very soon. For now take care and Happy Crafting.xx

Floral Shaker Card

Hi friends and crafters, I am back today with another project for you. Today I have made a shaker card using dies from 14 Craft Bar along with Foamiran for the floral embellishments. For the base of my shaker I have used dies from Sue Wilson, here the die set is Scattered Leaves background die set.

You will need:
Stamens
Shaker Content
Oil Pastels Dark Red, Light Pink and Mid Green
Sue Wilson Scattered Leaves
Foam Roll
Acetate
Hot Glue Gun
Cream and White Card

Step 1: Cut all of the elements you need to create your base card, using the cream and white card stock.

Step 2: Secure the cream card behind the decorative designs using Tacky glue

Step 3: Secure a piece of acetate behind the window, this will be your shaker section.

Step 4: To position the back panel in place, position it face down in the window, then place your backing card over, this will give you the correct position.

Step 5: Add foam tape, approximately 1'' all around your window, making sure there are no gaps. This will also mean that you need to use less for your shaker. Add your chosen elements and secure to the backing card.

Step 6: Add your chosen sentiment to the card, then secure to your base card.

Step 7: Colour your petals using deep red on the very edges. Then use the pale pink on the front and back edges of your petals. Finally add the green to the center of your smallest petals.

Step 8: Fold the leaves together, twist and manipulate them, then leave them twisted.

Step 9: Gently unroll the petals, they should all now have a bowl shape in the center.

Step 10: Layer the petals and secure with hot glue, add matching stamens to your flowers.

Step 11: Position your flower onto the base card and when you are happy secure them in place.

Here is the finished card:

Thank you for joining me today, I do hope you have liked the tutorial and the finished card. I hope you will join me again very soon. For now take care and Happy Crafting.xx

Happy Birthday Nan.xx

Morning, Hopefully you wont mind me sharing something very special to me today. My Nan would have been 94 years old today. To mark her special day, I wanted to make a double spread scrapbook page. I really hope you like my project, her favourite flowers were roses and Lilies, so I just had to cover the pages with them.

For those of you that have been following my blog, you will know that I adore Graphic 45, but I never use it, for this I broke all my rules and used papers from The Gilded Lily 12 x 12 & 6 x 6 collections.

I chose the papers I wanted from the pad along with some border strips. I used the very border from two of the pieces as a frame for both pages. I also used 2 sheets of cream cardstock for the base of my pages.

Then I took the border strips and background papers and cut them to size.

I used a border for the top of the page, leaving a gap for the frame. I used the other border strip just over half way down the pages.

Once the papers were in place I added some Distress Ink around the pages, I used Victorian Velvet and Tattered Rose. Then I added the frame and finally some cream crochet lace from Creative Expressions.

For the decoupage element, I took a page from both the 12 and 6 inch pads. I worked out which roses and lilies I wanted and cut them out with scissors.

Having chosen the photos. I used some of the sentiment frames and cut out the centre sections so I could add  the photo's behind. I took one of the mini folders and used it as a journal pocket and added a matching tag for journaling. Here is one of the final layout after many re arrangements.

I took some other embellishments from Bo Bunny and scrappberries, A cameo as Nan always used to wear some beautiful ones, some filigree metal butterflies and some letters to spell 'Nan'. The letters were printed with type, but white so I coloured them using Victorian Velvet Distress ink. I also coloured some seam binding with the same colour and scrunched it up before making a 'Sue Wilson' messy bow. Finally I assembled my decoupage elements using 3D glue gel. I wrote something in the journal pocket  and invitation with details of the wedding. I added a ribbon to the journal card and attached it with a matching brad.

To finish the pages I added some pearls, using some cosmic shimmer pearl PVA from Creative Expressions.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my post today and for all of your comments. I do hope you have enjoyed what I have done here. Before I go I would also like to share this medal, I collect coins and I designed it as a commemorative piece and had them made.

Thank you again for stopping by and I hope you will pop back very soon. Tomorrow I have another card to share using stamps from Leonie's New Collection. Take care xxx
