A Little Bird Told Me

Morning, Here is another one of the cards I made for the launch of Leonie's New Stamps and Embossing Folders on Hochanda. I have called this one 'A little Bird Told Me', as it has been bringing along the greeting in the hearts word by word.

To start with I stamped out my garden bird in Memento Black ink, the bird is by Clarity Stamps. I masked off the bird and stamped a small heart in it's beak.

Next I took one of the graduated swirl stamps from the collection and stamped around the page to create a border/frame.

Once I had decided on where my landscape was to be I stamped six hearts across the page. I used a mask so I could overlap the hearts without them being overstamped.

Next I added a mask to each of the hearts so I could continue adding my background design.

I added the hills using Mowed Lawn Distress Ink and a very small amount of Peeled Paint on the first level. I made the greens deeper at the tops blending the colour to a very pale shade where they joined to add the feeling of distance.

I masked the sun off with a  circle mask and added the colour using Stonewashed Adirondack and Memento Summer Sky. I removed the masks from the sun and added some Scattered Straw Distress Ink, dragging it a little into the sky to give a hazy appearance. You have to be careful here to avoid and green tones.

I added the trees and bushes, using a medium tree from Clarity Stamps, turned on it's side for the bushes. To complete the picture, I stamped the words in the hearts to make up the phrase.

Lastly I coloured my Bird, with alcohol markers, here a selection of blues. I layered the design onto a slate grey pearl card with Cosmic Shimmer glue.

Thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you like what I have shared today including the step by step. I hope that you will pop back again soon. I do want to say thank you again, for all of the lovely messages that you leave, I really do enjoy reading them.
