Rainbow Swirl

Morning, I am so pleased to be sharing another project as a guest designer for Lynnda at Oak House Studios. I adore Roses, so I just had to use the Dog Rose for me Project today, these were seen on Hochanda during Lynnda's last visit. For this 'Rainbow' project I have used the single rose bloom, a beautiful sentiment along with the 'English Garden' background stamp.

I started by stamping a few of the blooms onto copier paper with black Archival. These were then cut out to use as masks.

Having stamped the sentiment onto a 2 3/4'' die cut, I surrounded it with clusters of dog roses, which I built up using my masks.

I cut my main card to 7 3/4'' square and stamped the rose again, firstly randomly across my card and then in clusters around the edge, again using the masks I made earlier.

I masked off all of the roses both on the card and sentiment using Pebeo Drawing Gum. On the background I stamped the 'English Garden  diagonally across my card using black Archival.

I took my Tornado stencil from Decoart and secured it in place with temporary adhesive. Then  taking a blending sponge I swirled the Pure Colour Chemistry inks through it. I used Bottle Sunshine, Pumpkin and Totally Turquoise.

Using the centre of the same stencil I did the same, this time using only the Bottled Sunshine and Pumpkin.

I cut a mat for both my sentiment and card in 300gsm white card and edged it with Black Nuvo Gilding Mousse, although it's black it does give a much softer look while still accentuating the design. Finally I mounted my design and added the sentiment using 2 layers of foam tape to raise it from the card.

And here is the finished card.

Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my post, I really hope you have enjoyed the step by step and the card I am sharing with you today. Take care and see you soon. xx

Never Out Of Style

Morning. I am very excited to share this post with you today, after being invited by the Lovely Lynnda of Oak House Studios to be a guest designer. The theme is 'Rainbow' which gave me the scope to create something very different, I chose to design a wall hanging. I used a selection of the wonderful Colour Chemistry Ink's. They are such rich pigments and the colours are so vibrant, they are great fun to use either in their concentrated form or diluted to give the shade required.

The base for this project was a piece of reclaimed timber, which I sanded before painting with Slate Grey Cosmic Shimmer Chalk paint.

On a piece of Super Smooth Card I stamped the lovely background stamp and a wonderful sentiment from Oak House Studio, using the Navy Blue, Colour Chemistry pigment pad. I love the sentiment, it's so nice to have the mixture of fonts making it more interesting and adds to the feel of the project. I used versamark and Silver Embossing powder to add the Dog Rose to the background.

I then positioned the background and sentiment onto my base, then created a frame made from branches that I cut to size to surround the image. I secured these using 3D glue gel.

Next I cut some lengths of Hemp and dipped them into the bottles of Pure Colour Chemistry Inks, for this project I used Bottled Sunshine, Pumpkin, French Lavender and Totally Turquoise. I was over the moon with the strength and depth of colour, which wasn't lost at all once they had dried.

I took a piece of gauze and moped up all the left over ink from my glass mat and left to dry. I also made some simple round flowers using the Hemp that I had coloured and glued them in position using Cosmic Shimmer glue.

I mixed up some Bottled Sunshine Colour Chemistry ink with Gesso and flicked over the wood to create some added interest and then repeated with some plain white gesso.

I threaded some matching beads onto wire and then assembled the piece. Finally I distressed around the edges of the project with sand paper to bring the elements together.

I hope you have enjoyed the step by step I have shared today. I love this piece with the vibrant rainbow colours, a little bit of a different way to use the lovely stamps and inks.
Thank you ever so much to Lynnda for inviting me to take part in this. I have thoroughly enjoyed using the stamps and the Colour Chemistry Inks are just a pleasure to use, giving such a wide range of results. A must ave crafting essential. I have loved mixing my own colours in the spritzer bottles and have had hours of fun creating different backgrounds.

Thank you also for taking the time to visit today, I really hope you enjoyed this project and the step by step I have included. Hope you will visit again soon. Take care xx

Fridge Magnet Fun

Morning. A little bit of a fun project to share with you today. I had stamped out the words from Leonie's New Collection, playing around with phrases and the idea came along. It reminds me of the magnetic words you can buy for the freezer, so I thought it might make a fun wall hanging.

Firstly I drew a fridge Freezer. It's actually fairly simple, just straight lines with a ruler and a few rounded corners. I did it on to copier paper first to get it right and then transferred it to my card. I needed to keep the rough copy as it would act as a mask later on.

I backed my project onto greyboard and cut out the rough shape of the freezer, so I could recess the magnetic sheet behind the image. I then added a ribbon hanger to the back before adding some plain cardstock to cover up the back, I secured this with Cosmic Shimmer Glue from Creative Expressions.

I shaded the freezer with a selection of grey alcohol markers. Then covered it up with my copier paper mask, securing it with Stick n Spray from Crafters Companion. To colour the background I used Colour Chemistry Inks from Oak House Studios, French Lavender and French Wine which I had mixed with water and applied through a spritzer bottle.

I stamped the words fairly close together (so not to waste the magnetic sheet) on a piece of card in black ink. I stuck the piece to the magnetic sheet with Cosmic Shimmer Glue, allowed to dry and cut out. Then I arranged them on the freezer some of them in a phrase. They can all be rearranged.

To complete the design, I stamped one of the flowers onto the background to look like wallpaper. Then using a waterbrush I pulled out the colour from the background to colour the flowers.

Thank you so much for joining me today. I hope you have enjoyed this fun piece and will visit again very soon. There's more coming up tomorrow. Take care and bye for now xxx

Love Hearts

Morning, The project I am sharing with you today is actually using the waste from  one of my other projects, along with the Stamp Collection from Leonie Pujol launched On Hochanda. I had been looking at the waste from the Funky Heart ''Lovely Bubbles'' and that's when the idea struck me.

I glued four of the 'Lovely Bubbles' inside die cuts to give me a nice thick piece.

Then I triple embossed with clear UTEE before adding interest using some other embossing powders. Here I used Lilac Black Cosmic Shimmer from Creative Expressions, Brass, Gold and Copper from Sheena's Wow and lastly Aged Mahogany Distress Embossing Powder. While it was still molten, I stamped using the flowers stamp and the word 'Dream' both from Leonie's New Collection.

I cut my card base to 7'' Square, drew a 5 mm Deckled frame around my card and masked with Pebeo Drawing Gum. I stamped the narrow heart stamp onto my card and added a swirl stamp to act as a hanger. Then I took a sentiment strip, shaped it on my block and stamped it around the heart. I painted this with Cosmic Shimmer Iridescent Watercolours from Creative Expressions, so it matched my embossed heart.

I cut out a mask for the heart and sprayed with Colour Chemistry ink from Oak House Studios, I used French Lavender, which I mixed in a spritzer bottle with water.

I removed the drawing Gum and paper mask. Attached some two tone colour ribbon to the back of my embossed heart and secured with 3D Glue Gel. To finish off this piece I cut 'Love' from Satin Gold Cardstock and secured using Cosmic Shimmer glue. I then backed my project with purple Centura Pearl from the brights collection at Crafters Companion.

Thank you so much for coming to see today's project and the step by step that I have included. I hope you like what I have shared so far and will come and see the next project I am sharing tomorrow. I really apriciate your comments and always enjoy reading them. Take care and see you soon. xxx
