Flower Medley with FMM FunCraft Clay

Morning Crafters, an exciting few days coming up. Today, ahead of Kathryn Sturrock's shows on Hochanda tomorrow, I am sharing a bud vase of flowers made with the Superb cutters from FMM Funcraft. Many of you will know how much I love making flowers, especially roses, here I have actually used the Fantasy Flower cutters to make a rose with the clay. Please dont miss Kathryn tomorrow on Hochanda at 11 am & 3 pm, she always fills the shows with such inspiration and fantastic demos.

You will need:
The Easiest Carnation Ever Cutter
Blossom Cutter (Set of 3)
Fabulous Fantasy Flower Set
Pro Gel Colour in Pink & Green
Foam Mat
Distress Ink 'Tattered Rose'
Glue Gun

Step 1: Let make the Carnations (or small Pinks) first. Take the tools and materials required. Roll the clay on a glass mat to approximately 2 mm. Cut out and then using a toothpick or similar frill out the cut segments.

Step 2: Repeat, this time using the pink gel colour on each segment, dip the toothpick in a small amount of get and frill as before.

Step 3: Repeat this once more, this time using clay coloured to a light pink. To colour, add the smallest drop of gel to your white clay and manipulate to disperse the colour. The smallest drop goes a long way, so be sparing and add more if needed. Leave these and when dry, attach them to florist wire.

Step 4: Next the Rose, Cut a selection of petals using the Fantasy flower set with white clay.

Step 5: Shape each of the petals, You want to create a cupped shape, slightly frilled and rolled at the outer edges. (see photo)

Step 6: Add the Distress Ink to the edges. Don't use to much, less is definitely more. The Distress Oxides are more subtle and suit this very well. Starting with the smallest and using a glue gun build your flower, it is very similar to making a Foamiran Rose, so here is my video:

Step 7: Manipulate the green gel into your clay to give a rich green, here I have used Holly Green. Cut leaves to add to your display later, leave to dry.

Step 8: Make some Gypsophilla sprays using the blossom set. Cut each of the 3 sizes and shape to a cup, leave to dry. Once dry thread one of each size onto a wire stamen, starting with the smallest. Wire these together to form your spray and add the leaves.

Step 9: Arrange your blooms in a vase or even wire to form a corsage, button hole or even a hair slide or band.

Tomorrow on the Hochanda Blog I have a very exciting post, showcasing something very different coming up from Crafters Companion. Don't miss the one day special on Wednesday at 6 pm, Don't say I didn't warn you as these are going to fly out. I will also be sharing another Tutorial for this new concept on Thursday 31st, I hope you will join me for that. For now, Take care and Happy Crafting.xx

A wonderful day and some Great News

Morning. It looks like it's going to be another wonderful day today. I hope you are still enjoying some nice weather wherever you are. I am very excited to be able to share some wonderful news this morning.

I was asked to join the Foamiran 14CraftBar 2018 Design Team, it's being announced this morning. Many of you know how much I love making flowers of all types, but especially Roses. Making them from all sorts of mediums, such as the wonderful Clay from FMM and of course the superb Foamiran from 14CraftBar. You really can achieve some amazing results with it, so to join such a super talented group is a dream come true for me.

I have my first project as part of their team being published tomorrow morning on their blog so I do hope you will take a look at what I have create this week. I will also be sharing it on here.

I did a video this time, but I was very disappointed with it. It took ages to set up and I had the music all ready and playing as I made it. However when I played it back to check there was the noise of a kitten crying for Mum in the background. I tried to removed the sound without success so it's not really good enough to share. In addition the glue gun looked awful on camera, I had no idea I had used it so much, so a new one is on its way. Don't worry, I will be doing another to share with you. For now take care and Happy Crafting.xx
